Peanut Butter and Chia Jam Cereal Bowl

Cereal Bowl
w/ Peanut Granola and Chia-Berry jam

It's no secret that boxed cereals are full of sugar and other refined carbohydrates. So, while cereal seems to be this classic breakfast food that's simple to toss together, it's definitely not the first thing you want to be putting into your body after a night of fasting. Each and every day we have the opportunity to start anew, and every choice we make matters. So, start by nourishing your mind and body, and have a great day. :)

I know that this may look too time consuming, but it really only takes a few minutes to put together. I know I may seem crazy, but I make my jam and granola fresh every morning for this cereal bowl, and it never slows me down!

Yield: 1 bowl

Ingredients:
1 banana
1 apple
3/4 cup almond milk (I use unsweetened)

*optional additions:
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp buckwheat groats

jam:
1/2 cup frozen berries
1 tbsp chia seeds

granola:
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp peanut butter (I opt for crunchy)
1/2 tbsp maple syrup

-------------

Instructions:

1. Place oats, peanut butter, and maple syrup in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir until the oats are completely coated. Let sit on low heat.
2. Thaw frozen berries overnight or in the microwave for 1 minute. When thawed, stir in chia seeds. Let sit.
3. Chop the apple and banana and add to a bowl.
4. Add thickened jam, and granola, and top with any other toppings you want!
5. Add the almond milk over top, and enjoy. :)

**If you let the chia jam thicken and the granola cook while you chop the fruit and get your bowl out, you won't waste a single moment of your time, and you'll be able to enjoy a fresh batch every single morning!**
